What We Offer
Therapy For Autism in Illinois
At Caper ABA Services, our goal is to provide compassionate, effective, and inclusive support for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental differences — and for the families who love them. We believe in delivering high-quality, personalized services that meet each child where they are, build skills that matter, and support long-term growth in all areas of life.
In-Center ABA Therapy
Our In-Center ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy program is designed for children aged approximately 2 to 7 years old and is offered in our Chicago-based facility. As part of our broader therapy for autism in Illinois, this program surrounds learners with a nurturing, structured environment and helps them build foundational skills that support long-term growth and lifelong development.
Why families choose this program:
- A clinical environment dedicated to children’s growth, away from distractions and home-based stressors.
- A rich setting that combines fun, play, and targeted skill building in a safe space.
- Early intervention focus: delivering intensive, effective support when children are in a critical stage for development.
- Seamless coordination with our other services as children grow and evolve.
What we offer:
- A dedicated center space designed for children with special needs, featuring a sensory gym and zones for play, instruction, social interaction and regulation.
- One-on-one and small-group sessions supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and trained Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who design individualized programs.
- Natural environment teaching and structured teaching to help children generalize new skills from the therapy room into real-life settings.
- A focus on language/communication, social interaction, play skills, daily living skills, self-regulation, and reducing challenging behaviours in a positive, reinforcement-based manner.
- Family training, parent collaboration and progress reviews to ensure that therapy is consistent and supported at home.
- A sensory gym where children can practice motor coordination, body awareness, sensory regulation and movement in a supportive space.
In-Home / Community-Based ABA Therapy
For children older than our in-center age range — and for families who prefer therapy to happen in the home, school, or community setting — our In-Home and Community-Based ABA Therapy program provides flexible, individualized support. We serve children and young adults from ages 0 through 21 in out-of-center settings.
Why families choose this program:
- Therapy in the setting where the child spends most of their day — helping skills transfer seamlessly into daily life.
- Greater flexibility around scheduling and location.
- Support through key transitions (school entrance, adolescence, community integration).
- Comprehensive service for children up to age 21, meaning continuity of care as the child develops.
What we offer:
- Therapy delivered in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, school, community outings) to help generalize skills into real-life routines.
- Individualized treatment plans created by our BCBAs, with direct implementation by RBTs who travel to you.
- Collaboration with educators, caregivers, and community support systems to ensure consistency across settings.
- Focus on independence-building, generalization of skills, socialization in real life, transitions, and community living.
- Ongoing data collection, progress reporting and family/educator coaching so parents can feel empowered and informed.
Speech Therapy
Recognizing that communication is a central area of need for many children with ASD, Caper ABA Services is expanding to include a dedicated Speech Therapy program tailored for children on the autism spectrum.
Why families choose this program:
- A focused, evidence-based approach to communication that goes beyond “just speech” - addressing social use of language, pragmatic skills and real-world interactions.
- Integrated service means less fragmentation: speech therapy that aligns with ABA goals for consistent progress.
- Our culturally responsive approach means that therapy respects and supports bilingual families, and recognizes diverse communication styles and family language contexts.
What we offer:
- Evaluations and assessments of expressive language, receptive language, social communication, pragmatics (use of language in social contexts), articulation, and alternative/augmented communication (when needed).
- Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) experienced in autism spectrum disorders working collaboratively with your child’s BCBA to align goals.
- Therapy delivered in-center, in-home, or in combination — depending on what best supports the child’s progress and generalization of skills.
- Integration of communication goals into ABA programming so that speech and behaviour support work hand-in-hand.
- Parent/caregiver coaching to support communication development outside of formal sessions.
Occupational Therapy
Children with autism often benefit from support in sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, coordination, self-care and daily living skills. That’s why we’re proud to offer an Occupational Therapy (OT) program specifically tailored for children on the autism spectrum.
Why families choose this program:
- A holistic support system that goes beyond behaviour: we address the broader functional needs of children so they can engage more fully in life.
- Integrated care means fewer silos and better coordination among therapy providers.
- Real-life independence: we help children build skills that support school readiness, daily living, social engagement and participation in community.
- Adaptive and personalized: we meet each child where they are — whether they need sensory regulation support, fine motor remediation or self-care independence.
What we offer:
- Comprehensive assessments of sensory processing, motor planning, fine motor skills (e.g., handwriting, buttoning), gross motor skills (balance, coordination), play skills, self-care (toileting, feeding, dressing) and functional independence.
- Certified occupational therapists (OTs) with expertise in autism and sensory integration working cooperatively with the ABA team to embed OT goals into the child’s overall treatment plan.
- Services delivered in-center, in-home, or in community settings according to the child's needs.
- Access to a sensory gym (in-center) where children can practice motor and sensory skills in a controlled but dynamic environment.
- Collaboration: OT goals are aligned with ABA goals, speech therapy goals and family priorities — making the child’s progress cohesive, streamlined and meaningful.
Extra-Curricular Therapy
We believe that children learn and thrive not only through formal therapy, but through joyful, meaningful experiences that build confidence, social connection, physical fitness and fun. That’s why our Extra-Curricular Therapy program is designed for children with autism to participate in activities such as sports, swimming and other adaptive extracurriculars — guided by professionals who understand neurodevelopmental needs.
Why families choose this program:
- Because therapy and learning happen everywhere — in play, in social interaction, in movement, in community. Extra-curricular therapy brings these real-world experiences into structured, supportive contexts.
- It offers older children and teens meaningful opportunities for growth beyond “clinic” work - helping them build friendships, confidence and community participation.
- We make it accessible: our financial assistance, grants and Medicaid navigation support extend to these programs too, so that participation is possible regardless of income.
- Inclusive, culturally-sensitive approaches mean your child’s interests, identity and family context are honored.
What we offer:
- Structured, adaptive activities like swimming lessons, sports teams or clinics (e.g., soccer, basketball, swimming) designed specifically for children with special needs.
- Group social-skills based activities and teen social groups that foster peer interaction, friendship development, teamwork and community inclusion.
- Collaboration with our ABA, speech and OT teams so that extracurriculars are not “side” activities — they reinforce therapeutic goals (communication, socialization, motor skills, regulation).
- Safe, supportive, culturally-aware environments (including our inclusive policies and programming for children from diverse backgrounds, including Arabic-language options and culturally mindful experiences).
- Flexibility across ages (including school-aged children and teens) with a view toward building skills that matter for adolescence and adulthood.
