Gold Coast ABA Therapy Center
Summary: This article will review different options for treatment in the Gold Coast area of Chicago and why Caper ABA therapy might be a good fit for parents.
Located at 4055 W. Peterson Ave in Chicago, IL, Caper ABA Therapy offers comprehensive in-home, center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children with autism. Clients choose our facility because of our family-centric philosophy; we prioritize high-quality, personalized care and heavy parental involvement. No child has the same needs or goals, which is why no treatment plan is the same either.

Therapies Offered at Caper ABA Therapy
Our team provides a comprehensive array of services not just ABA therapy Gold Coast residents can use, but specialized social skills groups, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and extracurricular therapy.
Unlike traditional centers, we incorporate a “Naturalistic Teaching” philosophy, which moves away from rigid, repetitive drills in favor of play-based learning. This play based learning mirrors real world interactions that each child will have.
With a high level of participation from parents and caregivers, children are able to integrate the support they receive in our center, at home, or in school, making sure that the skill sets that are acquired aren’t confined to a single setting but rather reinforced across multiple settings that children will come across in daily life.
Our Culturally Sensitive ABA Therapy
With Caper ABA therapy Gold Coast residents can enjoy culturally sensitive ABA services, in particular, services offered in Arabic and other languages so that children with autism are able to develop communication skills in their family’s native tongue. Moreover, we work hard to incorporate religious practices where appropriate based on the needs and desires of each family, incorporating things like mosque visits into some of our services.
Our Specialized Social Skills
At Caper ABA we offer specialized social skills groups focusing on practical skill-building, including conversation, conflict management, and emotional regulation for children and teens.
We know that children with Autism have changing needs and goals, especially as they enter a traditional school setting. That’s why our social skills curriculum utilizes structured, therapist-guided activities to promote real-world application. All of these gains are complemented by extracurricular options like sports and swimming.
What to Expect
Our Family-Centric Approach
One of the many things that sets our facility apart is our family-centric approach. We believe that the success of each child hinges on the involvement of their family and that’s why we have designed our ABA services with three key areas:
Active Caregiver Training
Teaching critical skills and dealing with behavioral issues in our facility is only one step to a comprehensive treatment plan. We are not a closed door clinic and instead we encourage parent management training. This training extends to parents and caregivers so that each knows what behavioral tools and strategies our therapists are using and each can replicate those strategies in different settings like the home environment.
All of this ensures that the progress made during sessions continues on the playground, in school, or around the dinner table.
Collaborative Goal Setting
We know that families are a critical part of any treatment plan and that is why we try to address the quality of life that each child has at home with specialized curriculum and activities that are developed alongside parents. Our goal is to make sure that the functional needs of the household are met as well.
Flexible Delivery Models
Finally, we know that there can be logistical strain raising a child with autism and our goal is to provide flexible delivery models that make care accessible to everyone. For some families, in-home therapy options are the better treatment plan, reducing the therapy fatigue that can come from continually driving to and from a facility.
With our in-home therapy, residents of Gold Coast and River North don’t have to travel to our facility but instead we’ll have a clinician sent to their home to observe and aid children in a natural, comfortable environment.
